The chipDISK is based upon FLASH-TECHNOLOGY and is absolutely insensitive to tremors, vibrations, impacts, fluctuations in temperature and magnetic fields. The chipDISK is therefore best suited for use in mobile equipment and systems which need to withstand severe influences. The minimal mechanical measurement allow its employment in very compact pieces of equipment.
The power consumption of the chipDISK is only a fraction of that needed by a 'normal' harddisk which therefore considerably lengthens its amount of potential operation time. A hard disk controller is integrated in the chipDISK which insures the complete compatibility with a 'normal' harddisk on one hand, and which conducts the organisation of the flash-components on the other. Potential defects in the flash-cells are automatically recognized and dealt with accordingly.
Data protection is therefore considerably heightened. A special writing procedure working in connection with the cache memory considerably increases the slow writing speed that flash-components are known to have. The chipDISK is designed to be directly plugged (without a cable) onto a 2 mm pin rail with the pin cover of a 2.5' IDE-hard disk. The chipDISK-IDE can be directly employed on most Kontron MOPS PC/104-CPU modules and Slot-CPU cards.

10-Day Inspection Period: If the chipDISK/32-IDE purchased doesn't fit your application requirements or for any other reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will refund 100% of the item's purchase price upon formal request for an RMA number within (10) days of receiving the equipment, provided the equipment is returned in the same condition as was originally sent.
30-Day Warranty: The 30-Day warranty for chipDISK/32-IDE covers the item for any kind of issue that was not pre-existing and mentioned in the Item Description and also starts the day the item is “shipped”. Evaluation of the item and formal request for an RMA number initiation must be completed within this 30-Day time limit. Once warranty is granted RMA must be completed AND ITEM SHIPPED within (10) business days or warranty will not be accepted. When the item has been received, the following solutions will be evaluated at our discretion:

2. Replacement
3. Refund
** Please contact your Sales Representative prior to shipping the item back, RMA must be filled out and included with return materials or return will NOT be accepted.**
All equipment returns require an RMA number. RMA numbers are valid for (7) business days after issuance. Shipments sent without a valid or current RMA number will be returned at customer's expense.
